At Canvas, every person is treated as an artist of their own story — capable of transformation, creation, and healing.

At Canvas Outpatient, we utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to address the unique needs of each individual. Our primary approaches include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and expressive therapies, all designed to foster healing and resilience.
Each therapy is tailored to the individual, ensuring that clients receive the most effective treatment for their circumstances. For instance, EMDR is particularly beneficial for those dealing with trauma, while DBT equips clients with skills to manage emotional distress. Our commitment to personalized care means that we continuously adapt our methods to best support our clients' journeys toward mental wellness.
Our philosophy at Canvas emphasizes the importance of viewing each client as an artist of their own story. This perspective encourages individuals to engage in their healing process actively, fostering a sense of empowerment and ownership over their mental health journey.
By integrating trauma-informed practices with a human-centered approach, we create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions and experiences. This philosophy not only aids in recovery but also helps clients rediscover their strengths and capabilities beyond any diagnosis they may have received.
The team at Canvas Outpatient is composed of licensed and experienced mental health professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care. Led by Dr. Rishi Patel, our Medical Director, and Ashley Stafford, our Founder & Director, our therapists are equipped with the expertise to guide clients through their healing journeys.
Each team member brings a unique set of skills and experiences, ensuring a comprehensive approach to mental health. For example, Kirk Stafford specializes in integrating clinical expertise with compassionate care, while Tae Easter focuses on coordinating clinical operations to enhance client experiences. Together, they form a collaborative network committed to supporting each individual's path to wellness.
Canvas Outpatient is dedicated to transparency regarding consumer rights and available resources. In accordance with Texas law, we provide essential information to help clients understand their rights when seeking mental health services.
For any inquiries related to licensure or professional standards, clients can reach out to the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC). Additionally, if there are concerns regarding mental health services, individuals have the option to file a consumer complaint with the Texas Office of the Attorney General, ensuring that all clients are informed and empowered in their mental health journey.
